Al-Enabled Cartography and GIS for Early Warning and Crises Management

The ICA Commission on Cartography in Early Warning and Crises Management is pleased to invite you to attend the Workshop on Al-Enabled Cartography and GIS for Early Warning and Crises Management, which will take place in Chengdu, China, from 7 to 9 November 2026.

Introduction

To keep pace with the rapid develop of artificial intelligence, and focus on core scientific issues including the matching, adaptation, application models and technical systems between AI and disaster early warning cartography, the ICA Commission on Cartography in Early Warning and Crises Management (CEW&CM), Nanjing Normal University and other institutions jointly host the Workshop on Al-Enabled Cartography and GIS for Early Warning and Crises Management. This event serves as a high-level academic platform for exchanges between scholars, industrial experts and students from home and abroad. It facilitates exchanges of academic ideas across countries, disciplines and universities, and boosts the integrated and innovative development of fundamental research and applied technologies in intelligent surveying and mapping, disaster emergency response, and intelligent geographic information perception.

The workshop consists of two major parts: invited keynote speeches and parallel thematic presentations. The main venue is located at the Xipu Campus of Southwest Jiaotong University, Chengdu. An on-site field trip to the Wenchuan earthquake site will be arranged for experts during the conference.
